It features a new enhanced high performance "In-Line Direct-to-Paper Technology" laser engine (as opposed to the rotating carousel of the HP 4500/4550), that transers toner directly from four print cartridges to the media, ensuring that printing is more efficient and consistent, whilst allowing for either black-and-white or colour printing at 17 pages-per-minute (PPM), with the page out in less than 18 seconds. It also features an enhanced 4 line control panel which displays text and graphics simultaneously making troubleshooting and configurations quick and easy. In addition, the HP Colour 4600 platform is fully expandable with optional networking, paper trays, hard disk drives and extra memory.
